cosmos

hmmm. plans to go to club congress seem to have dissipated. that is fine. wasn't too much in the mood. just been tired alot lately. still not 100%. neither my back, nor my head. dang that uber cold. been watching alot of TV lately. i am not happy about that. cheers is on now. that is cool. the bulk of my TV viewing lately has been everybody loves raymond, friends, and southpark. tuesdays are still astronomy nights on discovery science. that is all good. and i was watching alot of the u.s. house debates iraq on tues and weds. that was somewhat informative and interesting. but i need to start weening myself off of these repeat programs. the start of the 2007 baseball season is just around the proverbial corner. speaking of, i am due a new tribe posting. hopefully i will do that tonight. pitchers and catchers reported yesterday, and already today we have bad news. the cleveland curse continues.

i have been trying to read cosmos, a new mag from the publisher of astronomy mag. it is rough though. it makes my head spin. it is like astronomy, but much more in depth and scientific. but alot of the topics are speculative, at best. parallel universes, string theory, inflation, dark matter and dark energy, the cosmic beginning. i do not buy alot of it, especially in regards to string theory and dark matter. i try to absorb what i am reading. but i don't buy it. my head just hurts.

so, for the third straight week, no subbing. this weeks culprit: death. the death of my friend jim counces. he died of a heart attack monday evening. i was at the hospital when they pulled the plug. the funeral was thursday. i guess it is now up to me to provide a fourth person for our sunday dinner and cards night. to me, jim's most desirable attribute was his always upbeat and positive attitude. he just had a good spirit. he was a people person. and an entertaining yet darn good card player.

some friends came over, then i fell asleep. this will be continued later.
