the weather on mars
yesterday was the 4th. i cannot recall being so enthralled with fireworks since i was a lit'len. TEP and 'your' tucson sidewinders provided the treat. tis a shame they are almost definitely leaving for reno within the next couple of years.
speaking of leaving, that is the way i am strongly leaning. back to OH. away from the mountains. back to allergies. back to cold. back to clouds. it would be the end of my jeep, the gas guzzling whore i adore. back to the sun being a welcome yet rare guest, rather than an almost everyday companion. i would have to find a good home for my cacti. i will miss them all. tsuki will have to endure a torturous road trip. goodbye to the sonoran desert and mt lemmon and all the catalina mountain trails i love. welcome back to the forests and corn fields and flat lands of OH. back to family and friends and my god daughter. i might have mentioned it before on here, but over a year ago, i read a book comparing and contrasting sigmund frued and c.s lewis. in the book, c.s. was quoted as saying to forego all else to be with family and friends. but it mentioned how he really had both where he lived, a place he loved that also had the people he loved. if i could combine OH and AZ, then i would be in shan gri la. unfortunately, i have not yet harnessed that power, and thus i am forced to decide.
anyway, so, july 13th is the new date that the mars rover oppurtunity is now supposed to finally descend into victoria crater. it was supposed to have done that sooner, but a nasty dust storm has hit the region. the same storm has hampered the efforts of spirit also. it is wild, scientist are now trying to predict weather on mars.
as for weather here in AZ, it is hot, damn hot. and i believe the monsoons are upon us. i thought it was going to start tonight. it got cloudy, and it got windy. also, i learned today that SUPPOSEDLY at is possible for it to be so hot that rain evaporates well before it would otherwise hit the ground. supposedly, the phenomena is called vergo (sp?).
