tuesdays

i am reading a new book. i recieved it from a friend's fiance. i just openned it today. i wish i hadn't waited so long. i am on page 109! i will buy this book, and reread it, probably many times.

my friend was over at my place about a month ago on a friday. it had been awhile, he was on my side of town, and stopped by for some brews, baseball, and catching up. he noticed a book i had out. the book was mitch albom's five people you meet in heaven. this book was forgotten till i went to sunset beach. i stumbled upon it gathering reading material for the long plane rides ahead. i did not open it, but i got it out of hiding. so, i get back from the beach, and instead of going back in hiding, it is out and about. my friend sees the book and remembers his fiance read tuesdays with morrie and loved it. mitch albom also wrote this book. so, i lend five people to him for his fiance to read. he returns it, saying she devoured the book in two days, and loved it just as much as teusdays. along with my book is her book. she has lent it to me. she left a post it note on my book, thanking me and letting me know it was a 'fantastic read'. now i have to read tuesdays. when i am lent things, i try to return them promptly. unfortunatley, i do not allow myself much time to read. THIS WILL CHANGE. there are definitely trade off areas where reading time can be substituted. baseball is not one of them though. it only will be on thru october, than nothing till late february, when spring training starts. so, tonight i finally started the book. it is also a fantastic read. it is a book about life, and it is right on. it could be considered a book on religion, it is so right on. i plan on finishing the book tomorrow, on my first day off. it will be somewhat busy though, so this goal be not be attained.

since my jeep key is still missing, and because of the fact that the last 3 days i have been brought home (by two different people), i have not done after-work-coffee in three whole days. so tonight that had to change. i walk up to starbucks. no cell phone to interrupt me, and allow me to be disconnected with time (my cell phone doubles as my watch). since i don't have to work tomorrow, i bring tuesdays with me. i had already showered, and was watching the tribe game till it got out of hand in the 8th inning. then i left. perfect time for a walk. perfect temperature, it seemed almost cool, but oh so totally comfortable. nice breeze. saw a few stars. lots of well spaced puffy white clouds to the west provided for a warm comfortable feeling and a cool view. side walks to guide me all the way to my destination. passed a few friendly people along the way. i was even told at starbucks i arrived at 'the perfect time', as a fresh pot of coffee had just finished brewing. the only downer was both very brief and insignificant. a jeep tried to run me over, :) sort of. he turned left, not noticing me. after he did, he apoligized with a hand gesture. a momentary scare for both of us due to our sudden observation of each other. then we each moved on. no biggie.

so, as great as the journey, the book was better. i can't wait to finish it, and move on to five people. i highly suggest both books, and i am only about 60% done with one of them. i will not go into details, only repeat: read the books. do it, do it now :)

also, if you are ever down in green valley, and you like chinese, go to china moon off of the esperanza exit. for the first time ever, i went down to tubac. the reason was for work. the customer was giving me and my co-worker lunch ideas as we were about to leave her house. the china moon was one of her suggestions. i am glad we stopped. i do not eat alot of chinese, but our portions were large, the food was served quickly, the prices were very reasonable, and it was good. bon appetete (sp?).
