day of sadness

i was talking to my mother tonight on the phone. she mentioned how she was glad dad had driven to his new jon in tennesee on saturday, rather than flying there. i said: 'why is this?'. she said because of the plane crash in kentucky. i just gone reading about it. 49 people died today. in a single plane crash. it was the first air disaster since nov 12, 2001. 49 people. two of those people were a couple who had just gotten married the night before. in a fairy tale wedding ceremony, which featured a horsedrawn carriage, not to mention 300 guest. they were on their way to start their honeymoon. the plane was heading to atlanta (so dad would never have been on it). for a majority of the passengers, this was just a connecting flight. this of course, means there were not too many people waiting in atlanta for a passenger to get off from that plane, had it actually made it there. positive identifications of the unlucky 49 were not possible. a plane that is just taking off is carrying ALOT of fuel on it. that is not a good thing when the plane crashes with alot of fuel on it. there was one survivor, the copilot. he was rescued by a fireman who got burned in the process of procurring the sole survivor.

when u sit back and think of an event like this, one that can happen to anyone, at any time. well, it can really help one appreciate what they have got. redefinine one's priorities in life, which IS oh so precious. my eyes have been tearing since i read that article, just thinking about the families and friends, of those 49 people. how many people would be saddened if you died today? multiply that number by 49. that's alot of sad people.

... out of respect, being someone who has lost the two people who he loved more than anything in the world in an vehicular accident, there is nothing else i can say that has one iota of signifigance compared to this tragic event.

peace
