spring break?
as always, i have lots i want to put down, but little time in doing so. extreme tiredness is the culprit tonight. i do not know if i am teaching tomorrow, i should be receiving a call at 5:00 in the AM in that regards.
i need to register with TUSD to increase my options. i WANT to continue doing this every friday. i want to make an educated decision based upon experience by the end of the school year as to whether i want to go to school for this. one aspect of my 'perfect' world: i would just start taking random classes of interest. not towards any major. subbing a few days a week would be my income source. maybe working at NP&G one or two days a week. but that really complicates things, because for that to be worthwhile, i need big cool projects like the one i am working on now. that isn't something one can work on one or two days a week.
ok, enough about 'perfect' world, and why it does not work. in the world i am living in, tomorrow will be one week. one week without a cig. that statement seems so huge. then when you think about it, it seems so sad. but that is the triple mega uber hold the chemical nicotine had on me. it is soo wild, while i would smoke, i could think of nothing more than quitting. typically, when i am not smoking, i am thinking of nothing but. complete opposite situations, complete opposite thoughts. i knew which was the right one, but could not choose it. everyone seems to have there demon or three though. i can honestly say that was my worst one though.
so, to assist in the rapid purging of nasty nicotine while doing something i have always enjoyed, i went running on sunday (in lieu of hiking) and wednesday after work. down at reid park. sunday i made it around the block 4 times. wednesday i made it three times, but was running a greater percentage of the time. the extra added motivation for wednesday's after-work session:
the half marathon i am running sunday at 7:00 also in the AM at the arizona distance classic. brought to you by john bingham and the leukemia & lymphoma society. the longest race i have ever done was a 10k.
after wednesday's run at reid, i decided i will do the half marathon sunday, not just the 'girly man' 5k as originally planned. this means i must not go out for st paddy's day, for the second year in a row. this was a holiday i was named after. not really, but no one has to know it. i could claim so. i know plenty who will be out, that sat night. is best i do not go out though. temptation after libation is not a good thing for me right now. i have been playing things so safe, i did not have starbucks coffee until today. i did not have any caffeine withdrawal headaches, but it sure did taste good tonight. it did produce some cig cravings initially, but those quickly disapated.
i also watched the departed. twice. i usually do not like movies of that nature. i watched this long movie on back to back work nights. little miss sunshine, thumbs down.
hopefully, I WILL make it to RC racing tomorrow night.
i still do have to register for the race, btw. i was going to do it last night, then i got into the departed again. i was going to do it earlier tonight, but after logging on, a friend IMe'd me. that led to almost a two hour conversation. her boyfriend is also my friend. things are a little rocky now. i didn't even get dinner.
speaking of IM, it was through myspace. now that they have IM, i will use my account through there. i will NOT transfer this blog though.
ok, i must be a responsible teacher. i already took a huge step towards that end last friday. whether or not i teach tomorrow, it still will be day (my lucky number) number 7.
it is now 07:45 in the AM. instead of creating a new post, i thought i would just add to this one. my job today does not start till noon. all i know is that i will be an art teacher today at a K-4 school.
i am now signed up for the half marathon on sunday!
new horizons is now well beyond jupiter. in 8 + 'short' years, it will finally whizz by pluto. the new horizons website has a countdown timer.
i saw a report that states weekend heart attacks are more likely to be fatal. so if you are planning on having one, definitely do it doing the work week. i can attest to weekend colds being worse than weekday colds.
ok, i should be doing other stuff.
