as always seems to be the case, dec 2 felt great. the day of the 1st sorta sucked, the night rocked! i think i am going to buy an RC truck. it wasn't pretty, but it was fun. afterwards, i did happen to imbibe, but it was all good. :)
yesterday was sweet. hiked to the top of
mt wrightstown in
madera canyon. 9,640 foot elevation. and each of the 'three amigos' carried our new full size backpacks, loaded with at least 4L (minimum) of water and unnecessary supplies. the reason: it was for practice for future longer, harder (than the hike to camp near the window) hiking / camping trips. like our proposed
start-at-pima-canyon-and-end-in mt-lemon adventure which is loosely scheduled for feb. i think march is more practical / advantageous / realistic. ok, this doesn't belong here.
the i-wish-i-had-my-camera-today moment: i was leaving work. i looked out towards the mt lemon / rincon-ish area. the full moon is climbing over a mountain ridge. just a sliver of the bottom is covered. by the time i travelled ~ 3-4 miles, it was well above the ridge it was now over. between the bright moon, the mountains, and the dusk-y sky, it would have been
sooo awesome.
segue: the pic above was taken on my way back to the yard, the friday after thanksgiving (that i had to work ): the sun was more pronounced (aka higher in the 'u') in earlier pics (i took seven overall), but i still like this one the best. it was all about the clouds.
ok, i have to check on the availability of ziggy marley tix for tomorrow, pick out a x-mas present i want from a catalog for my aunt, and then i can work on downloading the pics on my hiking site.
