super hero rankings

so, i went to my first drive in movie here in tucson. i have to say, i was uberly disappointed with the movie: superman returns. i know i watched all the original superman movies, and was never too impressed, even as a youngin. NOTHING HAS CHANGED. i could not wait till the movie was over. it WAS that bad. it oozed of cheesiness. it was like watching a nightmare on elm street movie, only freddie krueger was superman. spiderman was ok, although i still haven't seen the second one. batman begins was awesome! superman sucked. no superhero is as cool though as the tick. spoon!

so, it has been sorta awhile since i have been on here. nothing much is new, except for the japanese style pond i built.

the day a tried to live...

by soundgarden. it was just on the radio. i love that tune!

it is uber late, especially after haven dug out a 3 foot deep pond in hard as rock soil, strewn with big rocks and thick roots, in 100 plus degree heat. UGH

for the most part, has been a pretty good night. good dinner. the tribe won a close, well played game. and been catching up with friends and family on-line while continuing to try to boost my readership to this blog from my currently known figure of one.

now, time for a (hopefully) good night sleep.

if you build it, they will come.

it's HUGE!

sunday night, my night blooming cereus bloomed! took the pics this AM. it is now closed up.
nothing else major to 'report'. the tribe is winning 6-2 in the 5th. that is weird, as they have sucked lately. :(
ok, dinner time. i think strawberries & ice cream will suffice, EXCELLENT!

it's all about the strawberries

~strawberries, french vanilla ice cream, and sugar. an excellent combination. dinner was just an appetizer tonight.
~it is overcast and all looking like it is gonna storm. i hope it does! i say this now because i am back in AZ. if in OH, i just look forward to maybe seeing the sun for like an hour a week. lightning and thunder are cool, regardless of where you are at.
~a discovery: i just got around to checking out the pics i took from my OH trip. in one picture, i have found not one, but two orbs, almost side by side. the picture is of me and my cousin's seven month old daughter, taken at my parent's house. an orb will pop up in photos every now and then, but this is the first time i have ever seen two in one photo. orbs ROCK!
~i finally have (royal) blue H2O in my cammode (potty) gain. thank you little tablet of blueness!
~that is all i got today, folks

ta da! crap!

ok, i tried artpad. i am not happy, but i will share none the less.

here it is: crap

still not tired, still bored. i'm still waiting (pink floyd lyric thrown in at random).

saturday night non fever

I AM BORED!

i did not go out, except to hang out poolside for a spell. despite my boredom, i do not feel much like typing. i do not feel like watching tv or a movie either. the 'evil' tv has been off since 8:00PM. i say 'NO' to its coma inducing hypnotic lure, tonight. No, tv, no!

oh yeah, i went and saw les claypool last night. he was awesome! i soo needed a good night out. it is amazing how the power of good, live music and the positive energy of a crowd can reengergize one's self. after the week i had had, the concert was something i had desperately needed. it really changed my disposition back to its 'normal' self. YEAH MUSIC!

ok, got a little excited there. i am going to draw. i am torn between actual drawing, or doing the art pad thang. choices, choices.

saturday moonie

hey. just came across this short movie, and thought i would share.

three saturn moons

if i do not go out tonight, i will surely post more and get caught up from what has been a crazy week. for now, it is dinner time. excellent!

btw, the three moons are janus, epimetheus, and dione.

rain quotes man

rain, rain, go away.... ok, actually i will be the one going away, so it is all good! i'm singing in the rain *kick* can u name that movie?? who will stop the rain? name the band that sung that song! i am the rain king. ditto. i am thinking of a cool (at the time) 80's movie that takes place in the orient. name that movie. michael douglas (i believe) was in it. what movie's groovy soundtrack featured the song 'raindrops keep falling on my head'. besides rainman, what other movie featured both tom cruise & dustin hoffman? tonights rain trivia is brought to u by: crappy weather in Ohio.

SeedS

Just a quick update. despite an 'unheard of' 8 hours of continuous sleep last night, i still feel tired and that i need to 'catch up'. things are going well out here. speaking of 'things', my mom asked me today if i trimmed my thing, with 2 other family members around. she was referring to my goatee, of course, but it turned into a huge comic relief type 'thing' that quickly spread throughout the funeral home later in the evening. guess you had to be here:) so, the 'thing' i am most proud of: how i am proudly telling my friends (most who are smokers) and family (all who are non smokers) that i AM a non smoker! YEAH ME! the smell of it on others (which i never used to discern) strangely entices me, but thankfully the thought of 'turning back to the dark side' TOTALLY disgusts me. also, being confronted with death makes me appreciate life more. and smoking is SERIALLY NOT a life affirming activity. also: i love airports! they need more style though. i know they are large, expensive structures, but still. come on! airports have to be one of the best spots to 'people watch'. i am surprised commercialization is not pushed more than it is. movie theaters come to mind. make people want to have long layovers! provide families with more opportunities to do things at the airport, before going thru security. and before i end this, one quick item that i learned from reading the USA Today on the plane mon. 'they' are building a seed depository in norway. it is being called the noah's ark of seeds. seeds from throughout the world are to be stored there, in case of global catastrophe / disaster. to expedite their collection efforts, they are sending pre paid envelopes to all stoners... j/k! but seriously, it sounds like a good idea, in theory. but if there is a global scale disaster, who will be around to go up to norway, get the seeds (the depository is to be burrowed deep inside a mountain), and then head somewhere way warmer and plant them?? those crazy norwayians :)

harvester of sorrow

hey, no joy in mudville today, or yesterday for that matter.

i am headed out of town tomorrow, for a funeral. found out saturday afternoon. it was not a surprise, but that does not ease the pain any. especially when family is so far away.

death has once again claimed another 'victim'. death was nothing more than a word to me until the summer of '96. i was 22-1/2. death had no meaning to me. no emotions were attached. i could have called it anything, like antartica. it was a place i had heard about and read about. i knew no one who had been there. i have never been there. i heard it sucks, but never really gave it much thought.

then my grandma passed away. my world had changed. my eyes had been 'ripped' open. a new and terrifying reality had openned up. since then, death has 'caught up' to those around me. since then, i do think it is accurate to say that i have experienced more death than the 'average' person, who is not exposed to war, famine, terrorism, large scale natural disasters, etc, etc. a good friend from my college, who left behind a wife and beautiful 3 year old daughter. a friend's best friend. my sister, and her 7 month old son. a college roommate, who also happenned to be my best friend growing up. my grandfather. my best friend's father. a good friend and co-worker. now, my mom's sister. these are 'just' the people who have passed that i was close with.

yes, all this pain does suck. by reading this, you may even feel depressed, and feel an urge to quit reading. i admit, my head has been a wreck ever since i found out last night. i almost even bought a pack of smokes today. i FINALLY have quit, cold turkey. i have only been a non smoker since thurs, july 8th. today was my roughest day. i got thru it though! the help of my sister above and a friend i have just recently met were both huge today. this could be the topic of another blog (my quitting cold turkey), so i digress.

so, what is my point to all of this? it has definitely helped me grow as a person. to be more 'in tune' with life. to enjoy the good times, do not take them for granted. do NOT take your loved ones for granted. as much as death sucks, embrace the birth of a child 10 times more, with love and passion. birth of life IS a miracle. you NEVER know what the next day will bring. it could be the average blah day. usually it is. but it could be the worst day of your life. it could be the best day of your life. it can even have aspects of both. life is the balance of both good and bad. i really believe the two are equal in amounts. everyone makes a much bigger deal of the bad. the bad comprises the majority of the news we watch, and the newspapers we read. the good is out there though. seek it, embrace it, adjust your priorities accordingly. death hurts because of love. despite this, love is worth it! i can appreciate the teachings of buddha more than ever. i do want to learn more about buddhism. from what little i know of it, which is mostly due to a recent national geographic article, it is RIGHT ON. that one article meant more to me than all the years having been educated in Catholic schools, and having attended countless Catholic masses.

ok. now i have vented. now, i must hit the sack. to all those who have passed away, I LOVE YOU! to all who have lost loved ones: i can relate to your pain, and hope that you can discover peace through the pain, and can grow as a person, after dealing with life's toughest aspect. it is easier said then done. the important thing is to never forget.

friday night blah

so, it is almost midnight. fri night. what am i doing? watching ant wars on discovery. aren't i the exciting one?? this ant wars thang is sick, in both a good and bad way. this pic does not show the carnage and tiny nastiness that shines through in the show. i just got done watching the ants take on a slug. ants 1, slug 0. now they eating a crab, from the inside out. the ants are unstoppable! kill them, before they kill u! i should just watch this, put in a NIN CD, and pretend i am watching MTV, like when they would actaully play music videos, back in the day.
deadliest catch is on after ant wars. it seems to be on almost every single night. i do not understand why? WHY? they are totally ruining my appetite for some crab legs. mmmmm, crab legs.
the tv is off now. i may have to go to the spa. i have been sitting on front of my computer, voluntarily, WAY to much today. much of that time has been spent here, setting up my profile, while being distarcted by both my cat and a whose line is it anyway (the good ones, with drew carey) marathon. btw, my profile still is not even close to being done. well, maybe close, but it will be changing as i learn more and more about this 'place'.
i am getting sorta tired, yet don't feel like sleeping. maybe i will attempt to draw something. maybe i will post it. maybe goats will fly out of.... :)

TEST

my first blog ever. i am only typing right now as a test. THIS IS A TEST.... reminds me of a very funny beavis and butthead episode 'guest starring' bill clin-ton. anyway, ha ha, u are reading a test. i have stuff i must do now, but i wanted to create this, just because i stupidly started this now, & i want to make sure it works, so that i can get back to it later.

speaking of... later
